Summary:
The Chairman's conclusions represent the consensus reached in Arusha among leading personalities of the Darfur Movements. The consensus reaffirms the commitment of the movements to the AU-UN Road Map and their participation in forthcoming negotiations. They also (i) present a common agenda, (ii) call for others to participate, (iii) agree to respect a mutual cecessation of hostilities and provide humanitarian access, (iv) support the deployment of peacekeepers, (v) call for the release of prisoners, and (vi) request the envoys to consult widely with the people of Darfur to channel views into the negotiation process.
