Summary:
This agreement reaffirms the ceasefire agreement of 26 August 1998. It calls for the deployment of troops constituting the Interposition Force of the Military Observer Group of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOMOG) by States in the region to implement their peacekeeping mandate and the withdrawal of all foreign troops. The agreement also commits the parties to the establishment of a Government of National Unity and sets up a date for the general and presidential elections.
