This communiqué, adopted by the League of Arab States on the basis of the first dialogue between the parties, recognizes the legitimacy of the Somali Transitional government and the Islamic Courts. It also commits the parties to continue dialogue, bring war criminals to justice, and stop hostilities and media propaganda. The communiqué also mentions the possibility of establishing technical committees to make proposals on political and security issues for future dialogue sessions.
