Baseline Assessment of the Somaliland Judiciary

As part of the UN Transition Plan for the Years 2008 to 2009 which is based on the Somali Reconstruction and Development Frame work agreed for implementation, the reform of the Somaliland Judiciary was prioritized.  This report assesses: the functionality of the judiciary and the attorney general’s office in Somaliland; the actual situation of the Courts and the attorney general’s office in terms of building, facilities and infrastructure; the training needs of judges, judicial supporting staff and the Attorney General’s office.
