This agreement calls for constitutional reforms for the armed forces, judicial system and human rights and electoral system.

This agreement implements the Oslo Agreement from the 30 of March 1990 and provides the rules of procedure by which the negotiation process will be conducted.

Signed on the same date as the Mexico Agreement on the Procedures for the Search of Peace by Political Means, it  sets out the agenda and issues for the negotiating process.

This Security Council Resolution calls for a permanent ceasefire agreement. It requires Iraq to destroy all of its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons capability as well as missiles with a range of more than 150 kilometers and to allow verification by inspectors from the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

This agreement ends the conflict between the Government and the Ejército Popular de Liberación (EPL). It legalises the EPL as a political party and guaranties them representation in the National Assembly. It also details a plan for reinsertion, defines measures to promote human rights and establishes procedures for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR).
