The Right to Bear Arms

This option report compares constitutional provisions related to the right to bear arms. The sample of constitutions reviewed consists of almost 600 constitutions enacted since 1789. With a very small number of constitutions including such a right, the report sets out the historical trends and provides sample constitutional provisions with respect to the following three categories: 1. Right to bear arms, 2. Permit requirements, and 3. Possession and use of firearms shall be regulated by law.&ampnbsp
