Specialist Bodies for Constitution-Making

This paper highlights the variety of specialist bodies utilized in the constitution-making process. Drawing on cases from three regions, the paper introduces the functions and basic rationale of national conferences, pacts and inter-party dialogue, constitutional commissions and committees, and constitutional assemblies, as well as the problems and challenges associated with each.
