Examples of Technology Based Public Participation in Constitution-Making Processes

This document sets out examples of how technology has assisted with public participation in recent constitution-making processes. The following examples are highlighted: Iceland, where constitutional drafts were published weekly and discussed via social media, Tunisia and Egypt, where Google helped create a platform for videos used for public education and comment on specific constitutional provisions, and Somalia, where Google Ideas in conjunction with Voice of America assisted with a public survey and broadcast of contentious issues in the constitution-making process.
