PopVote - A Revolution in Gathering Opinions in Hong Kong

This paper examines the use of an online voting system in Hong Kong for a mock referendum on the selection of a Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The paper examines the infrastructure of the online voting system, focusing in particular on the identity authentication, privacy, and security issues involved.
