Right to Shelter

This option report compares constitutional provisions related to the right to shelter. The sample of constitutions reviewed consists of almost 600 constitutions enacted since 1789. In addition to detailing the trends with regard to the right to shelter, the report provides sample constitutional provisions including those constitutions that provide an explicit right, and those that provide for a state duty to promote the conditions necessary for implementation of the right to housing.
