The Group of Friends of Mediation organized a high-level event in the margins of the United Nations 73rd General Assembly opening week on 27 September 2018. The theme of the event was “Engaging youth in mediation – a step towards lasting peace”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey organized the Fifth Istanbul Conference on Mediation on 30 November 2018 under the theme of “Enhancing the Practice of Mediation for Sustaining Peace”. The Conference was held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

The Group of Friends of Mediation held its 10th Ministerial Meeting on the margins of the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations on 26 September 2019 under the theme of “New Technologies for Peace and Mediation as Tools for Inclusion: Celebrating the 10th Ministerial Meeting and Looking Ahead”.

The Sixth Istanbul Mediation Conference was convened on 31 October 2019 with the theme of “International Peace Mediation: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead” under the auspices of H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

The Group of Friends of Mediation organized its 11th Ministerial meeting on 2 February 2022 online. The theme of the high-level event was “Mediation as a tool for peaceful settlement and resolution of conflicts: Taking stock after 10 years of the first UN Resolution and looking ahead”.
