This agreement aimed to end the conflict between the parties and comprises all the agreements achieved through the peace process as an integral part of  it. The agreement establishes a Transitional Government and sets out a time frame for implementation. 

This protocol calls for the formation of a new national army through the integration of the two opposing forces. The protocol defines the mission's size and the structure of the force, and sets the procedures for the integration of the two forces into various security organs. It also calls for a Neutral International Force to support the transitional process.

This protocol addresses issues transitional issues, including the transitional period, the timetable for the implementation of the peace agreement, the relationship between the peace agreement and the national constitution; and procedures in case of violations.

This agreements provides ceasefire arrangements and transitional arrangements until the presidential elections. It addresses primarily military issues such disarmament demobilization and reintegration. It provides a timeframe for elections, establishes general amnesty provisions and addresses humanitarian issues including return of refugees, freedom of movement and delivery of humanitarian aid.

This protocol sets the mechanisms for repatriation of Rwandan refugees as well as their resettlement in Rwanda. The protocol also addresses such issues as the return of property, education and employment opportunities.
