Acuerdo de creación de la Comisión Nacional de Reconciliación
This accord implements the Esquipulas II Agreement of 7 August 1987 and establishes the National Reconciliation Commissions in Guatemala to promote the end to the civil conflict in these states.
Procedure for the Establishment of a Firm and Lasting Peace in Central America (Esquipulas II)
This agreement seeks to provide the principles by which the conflicts in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua will be resolved. Esquipulas II defined a number of measures to promote national reconciliation, an end to hostilities, democratization, free elections, the termination of all assistance to irregular forces, negotiations on arms controls, and assistance to refugees. It also laid the ground for international verification procedures and provided a timetable for implementation.
Security Council Resolution 598: Iraq-Islamic Republic of Iran
This Security Council Resolution calls on Iran and Iraq to observe an immediate ceasefire, discontinue all military actions and withdraw all forces to the internationally recognized boundaries. It requests the UN Secretary-General to dispatch a team of United Nations observers to verify, confirm and supervise the ceasefire and withdrawal of troops. It urges that prisoners of war be released and repatriated without delay after the cessation of active hostilities.
Jeddah Accord
This agreement seeks to create a Joint Commission which will discuss and draft the mechanism and details of the proposal to grant full autonomy to Mindanao, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Palawan. It also calls for the creation of provincial committees to monitor and implement the cessation of hostilities between the Philippines Government and the MNLF.
Esquipulas Declaration (Esquipulas I)
This declaration commits the five Central American Presidents to resolving their conflicts in a peaceful manner. It calls for the creation of a comission to establish a Central American Parliament through an electoral process.
Koka Dam Declaration
This pre-negotiation agreement provides the agenda for the National Consitutional Conference and provides a start date for the talks.
