Report on Somali Constitution Capacity Building Workshop

This is a report from July 2008 workshop for the&ampnbsp“Technical Team” of 14 persons drawn from the Independent Federal Constitution Commission (IFCC)&ampnbspand the Parliamentary&ampnbspConstitution&ampnbspCommittee (PCC)&ampnbspto form a steering committee to advance the constitution drafting process. &ampnbsp&ltspan style="line-height:1.6em"&gtThe objective of this constitution review/capacity-building workshop was for this group of participants (comprised of both IFCC, IFCC secretariat and PCC Members) to discuss and review the 1990 draft constitution and identify elements that may be considered for incorporation into the new draft and to receive training from the Max Planck Institute for Law on developing the structure of the constitution and an introduction on principles of federalism.&lt/span&gt
