The Politics of Constitution-Making in Uganda
This chapter chronicles the history and process of constitution-making in Uganda. The current constitution was re-written in 1995. The author discusses the respective roles of the Constitutional Commission and the Constituent Assembly and how, despite a participatory process, the current political system is lacking in its respect for civil and political liberties.
