Agreement on Provisional Arrangements in Afghanistan Pending the Re-Establishment of Permanent Government Institutions (The Bonn Agreement)

The Bonn Agreement was signed in December 2001 and constitutes the legal framework for a post-Taliban Afghanistan. It creates the Interim Authority in charge of governing Afghanistan through its transition and sets out the transitional legal framework and judiciary. It also sets out the timeline for drafting the new Constitution of Afghanistan and mandates the creation of the responsible constitution-making bodies.
