Submission for the CRC - Treatment of Issues Arising from Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution

This paper produced by UNAMI’s Office of Constitutional Support (OCS) is part of a series of submissions prepared at the request of the CRC - the Iraqi Constitutional Review Body. These notes seek to provide recommendations on specific areas of the constitution considered for review. This paper provides comments on the issues arising from Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution which sets out a political process whereby the leaders of the country’s communities would negotiate a political solution to their internal boundaries.
