Советники по гендерным вопросам развернуты в большинстве миссий ДПВМ; во всех миссиях есть специальные координаторы по гендерным вопросам, а в некоторых - и координаторы по гендерным вопросам в отдельных компонентах миссий. Эксперты по гендерным вопросам работают в тесном контакте с руководством и персоналом миссии, предоставляя техническую экспертизу и обеспечивая учет гендерных аспектов во всех видах деятельности миссии, включая усилия по содействию всестороннему предотвращению конфликтов и посредничеству.
