Areas in the Iraqi Constitution Requiring Reconsideration

This document contains two papers prepared by UNAMI’s Office of Constitutional Support (OCS) identifying issues in the text of the Iraqi constitution to be reconsidered by the constitutional review body. The suggestions in these papers address, inter alia, omissions from the text, improvements to the structure of the text; resolution of contradictions between different provisions in the text; and review of substantive areas, which include: Human Rights, federal and regional judicial structures, financial arrangements and natural resources, federal division of powers and creation of regions.
