Constitutional Reforms in Favor of Children

This report prepared by UNICEF is meant to provide options to countries on how to formulate and interpret constitutional provisions in favor of children. The report is separated into the following sections:

Constitutions as Tools of Legislative and Policy Reforms;
General Constitutional Provisions in Favor of Children;
Specific Constitutional Provisions in Favor of Children;
Post-Constitutional Reform (including judicial interpretation), and
Conclusions and Lessons Learned from Constitutional Reform Experiences.

It is of note that the report takes a rights-based approach in that it uses principles and provisions of human rights instruments as the basis for constitutional formulation and interpretation.
