Public Registry of Detainees

This option report compares constitutional provisions related to the public registry of detainees. The sample of constitutions reviewed consists of almost 600 constitutions enacted since 1789. The report does not provide any historical trends due to the small number of constitutions that contain such provisions, but the report sets out sample constitutional provisions dealing with 1. Public registers of arrested/detained, 2. Wardens who must enter names of arrested in a registry, and 3. Names of detained that are published during State of Emergency.&nbsp
